The Importance of Labratory Equipment in Schools

Posted by on Mar 24, 2010 in Needed Items |

Many underprivileged school districts  and teachers are looking for items to be donated to their schools for science laboratory study classes. These items will go a long way in helping students to earn an education through biology, chemistry and other proper laboratory equipment.

Proper attire needs to be worn any time scientific experiments are performed during school hours or on school campuses. For this reason schools and teachers are looking for donated items such as goggles, test tube holders, rubber gloves, filter paper and lab aprons. These items will go a long way to ensure student safety while performing scientific experiments.

Some basic laboratory supplies and equipment that many schools are lacking are:

Rubber stoppers
pH paper
beaker tongs
thermometers
four steps
volumetric flasks
test tubes
stirring rods
litmus paper
graduated cylinders
test tube brushes
strikers
glass plates
test tube clamps
Bunsen burner’s

These are just a handful of items that can be donated to independent school districts across not only the United States but in other countries as well for lacking simple and basic laboratory equipment items. Why are these laboratory items so sought after? Wedding a child’s appetite for a career that will last them a lifetime as a teacher’s goal from the day that child walks into a classroom. There are many technical programs that students can enroll in an Ernie degree in as little as two years and still make a great income while working at respectable job.

Laboratory technicians can complete a technical program at one of the many lab technician schools in the U.S. in as little as two years and earn an Associates degree earning an average lab technician salary of $33,000 per year. Inculcating career motivated ideas and students will help instill in them the need and then portends of a career. Starting early and allowing them to choose a career in a field in which they will enjoy working in yet allowing them to earn a respectable living is very important to the teacher’s resource exchange.
